Farewell Party 2010

Farewell Party 2010, held on June 18th. Dedicated to all NTHU graduates.

The theme: This party was named MEIHUA Farewell because Mei Hua (梅花:Plum Flower) is a flower that blooms in the springtime and Tsing Hua University has a big garden full of this kind of flower. Also, there is a Memorial dedicated to Dr. Mei Yi-Chi at NTHU, he was the founding president of the university.

Another interesting fact is that there is an annual sport game played by Tsing Hua University and Chiao Tung University. The Directors at first, were having problems naming the game. At last, Prof. Zhang Zhi-Yi solved this problem by proposing the conventional coin tossing. “If the head-side is up, the game would be called Mei-Chu; otherwise, the game would be called Chu-Mei.” As the head-side of the coin went up, the tournament was thereby named Meichu to commemorate the two founding presidents of NTHU and NCTU, Dr. Mei Yi-chi, and Dr. LingChu-Ming.

Dress Code: The graduates had to wear black and white with a mei hua flower as corsage which they could wear in the right side of their chest or in their right wrist.
